Guided Outings on Our Private Water
Cedar Run's consistent flow and abundant trout population virtually guarantee a great outing, every time. It is one of the few places where an average fly fisher can legitimately expect to hook trout measured in "pounds not inches". To further stack the deck in your favor, we make sure to "rest" our water for several days between angling parties. This increases the odds of our larger, smarter trout letting down their guard when it happens to be your fly passing by.
This is not to say the fishing here is easy. Spring creek angling is renowned for its challenges and Cedar Run is no exception. Anglers who can place accurate, delicate casts and effectively mend line while keeping a low profile, consistently catch the most trout and largest trout on Cedar Run.
The nearby Mad River offers public wading or float trips for trout (guided or unguided) which can be combined with a guided outing on our property. Such "combo" trips can get you a full day's fun at half the price However, a full day of guided fishing usually yields the best results. We'll spend the first half of the day reviewing and practicing techniques on prime stretches of the Mad River, then "graduate" to Cedar Run for the second half. You may bring a friend or two for just an additional $100 per full day or $50 per half day.
A gourmet lunch is also included with full-day trips. We'll be glad to keep you up to date on conditions as your trip approaches, and we'll recommend trip options which best suit your preferences and current conditions.
